Having spent the last few days at FITC here in Amsterdam, excitedly listening to a lot of excited flash people talking excitedly about exciting stuff they’ve done, it’s about time I did something too. Last night I got busy with clever little particles I made back in November and some perlin noise to control their direction. So the particles do the painting and I just change how they behave.

That strange oil painting-type look comes from a bug in the flash player. So it all looks a bit like an oil painting, except this one that looks like a psychedelic eye:

So then I messed with a couple of values and suddenly the shape went a bit nuts and started drawing in burning neon.

And it made a Fish/Tadpole thing:

And another thing… why can’t I turn my iPhone sideways-on when I’m reading an HTML email? To all intents and purposes it’s an identical view to Mobile Safari – especially when the email looks like the site it’s from – so I forget I’m in Mail and turn it sideways, but nothing happens. Then I get angry. Please fix this, Apple. Please fix it now.

I originally had a go at this little flash experiment about 18 months ago, but it stayed pretty much hidden on my old site, so here you go – blow up famous places for fun! I really hope this doesn’t get me arrested and “rendered”, or whatever it’s called…
